WHAT DO WE DO?

The business sub-team is responsible for the business aspect of the team. They gain valuable experience running a real organization and contacting real companies as they conduct fundraising endeavors and community outreach for the team.

  • Submitting the application for the Chairman's Award, FIRST's most prestigious award

  • Brainstorming and implementing creative and innovative ways to raise funds for the team

  • Contacting local and national companies for grant offers and sponsorships

  • Presenting in front of panels of judges

  • Practicing creative skills in photography, videography, and graphic/web design

  • Designing and purchasing team merchandise

  • Managing scouting operations and team spirit at competitions

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

By joining the business sub-team, members understand the skills necessary to run a non-profit organization, translating to a future in business or even design. Their contributions to the team allow it to stay afloat each year and give back to the local community.
